I will skip the heavy plot twists because going into this one blind is half the fun.

It starts with a guy named "Ryland Grace" waking up with total amnesia on a spaceship, completely unsure of his own name, let alone why he is floating through deep space.

Gradually, through flashbacks and frantic experiments, he pieces together a horrifying reality.

  • A spaceborne microbe is eating the sun
  • Earth is freezing
  • He was sent on a one-way mission to find out why one single star is immune

If you loved The Martian, this takes that exact same formula and actually cranks it up.

Except this time, he is not entirely alone.

EDIT: I also just realized something.

The ship is called Hail Mary.

The guy's name is Grace.

So, it's technically, Hail Mary, full of grace.
